Jim Rafferty, who holds a degree in economics, served as a Combat Engineer Officer in Vietnam. Jim, father of two, has been a home builder, land developer and sales representative in the building field since 1968.

My marriage had failed years ago. I was not in a committed relationship -- but not from lack of trying. My business, home building, disappeared with the decline of building of all types in the Northeast. I was making ends meet by working at a telemarketing company. All the previous courses I had taken told me to keep plodding on, keep trying, doing, and it will all work out!

Before Avatar®, I had taken other courses -- The Forum, Insight, Rebirthing -- I was in search of The Answer. What the answer was I wasn't sure, but I knew something was missing from my life. I approached Avatar with the same expectations I felt towards other courses. Maybe this was The Answer.

The transparent belief exercise in Section I, I found, marked the beginning of my finding everything I was looking for. Section II proved to be a lot more than I ever expected. Despite knowing about feelings and having taken many courses, I still couldn't feel. I uncovered beliefs I had believed growing up and especially in the military. "Feelings get in the way... it's not okay to feel." It took a lot of work on my part and patience from my Avatar trainer, but I re-acquired the tool feeling. I now had a way to experience what I had experienced in Vietnam and to actually integrate all that I had felt. If I got nothing else from Avatar, being able to feel and let go of judgment was worth the time and the money.

Since Avatar, I no longer look outside of myself for answers. I don't need courses or gurus to be my source. I am source.

I have since found and married my perfect mate. My home building business has come back to life, and opportunities abound in other areas of construction -- areas I had not thought to look at before. My relationship with my children gets better every day. I am no longer waiting for life to make me happy -- my life is joyous because that's the way I create it to be.
